When Arjen and Marie-Claire arrived they asked me what my favourite sites are and if we can dive them, of course I said yes. So yesterday we took then to the most requested Cedar Pride and my 2nd favourite Japanese Gardens . This means that today we can take them to my favourite New Canyon and then the 2nd most requested The Tank.
As New Canyon is a deep dive >30m we did that as the 1st dive, we saw Layla the turtle at about 28m on the south side of the canyon just before we crossed. Sumayyah who is still overcoming her fears for water and doing very well I must say was so exited and duck dived down to see Layla. She did not even look at her depth gauge and only realized after the dive how deep she was after we told her, this was her deepest dive to date.
This is Layla swimming back to the surface to take a breath note that there is no colour as it is beyond 25m and the sun is behind the clouds. One would require good strobes to light up the subject to see the colours.
Here we have a beautiful picture of a clown fish between white anemones.

Here is Arjen and Marie-Claire doing the tourist thing and posing in The Tank.
We use The Tank as the safety stop area as it is at a depth of 6m and give the diver ample time to take pictures. On this specific dive I encountered a problem; I had an out of air situation. How on earth is that possible one would ask, surely you monitor your pressure gauge. What happened was that my computer told me that I have 42Bar left in my cylinder and as a matter of fact I had 0Bar left and had to do a CESA. It is a good thing that I was trained to handle such a situation over wise you can only imagine what could have happened.
It was pretty cold as we exited the water with a slight wind blowing cold air in from Europe and the sun hiding away behind the clouds.
See the Stone Fish, it is very well camouflaged and very poisonous, treatment against the poison is heat. Heat breaks down the poison so submerge the effected area in water above 45°C, the rule of thumb is in water as hot as you can handle for as long as you can handle.
As we entered the water on the second dive we realized that we had a strong current from south to north; this meant we had to turn around with at least 150Bar left to make it back to our entry point. We could have drifted and used another exit but there was one problem with that option, the truck would not be there and we would have to walk a long way back. This would not have been fun with full scuba gear.
Nice picture showing life on the reef as the sun breaks through the clouds.
Arjen and Marie-Claire after their last dive with us with them we have Andreas from Sweden .
This is a sight we see almost every night, pretty isn’t it. It is only 16:40 now and the sun has set.
Graham, Pedro and Sumayyah went to Aqaba again and I opted to stay at the village. I really have no urge to go to town two nights in a row. As they returned they had to tell me about all the nice things they ate, who needs enemies if you have friends like that. I heard about ice cream, fruit and chocolate brownies, oh yes graham is still too sick to dive but not for ice cream and brownies. That is only the deserts lets not start on what they had for dinner, when I had to settle for a chicken burger and chips.
I have to thank Marie-Claire for providing the under water pictures and Sumayyah for the sunset picture.
hahaha...seriously I feel bad after reading this, Pedro even was considering getting you back Tche Tche menu. Just the menu :) LOL
