About Me

My photo
Well I suppose I am or at least used to be like everybody else, sort of. Used to do the thing that society wants us to, The Rat Race. For years I dreamt about exotic locations after watching the travel channel, thinking that some day I would love to go their or do that. Until the beginning of this year (5 Jan 2010), it was not planned or a new year’s resolution, it just happened. I cancelled all my TV subscriptions and pulled out all cables, literally threw them away. After this I drove down to a local scuba centre and signed up for my first scuba course. Let us fast forward to today, I have quite my job sold my vehicle. What now? TRAVEL BABY, SCUBA TRAVEL!!!

Brrrr... but we still had nice diving.

After only 5 hours of sleep and some of it interrupted by mosquitoes I am keen to go diving. The weather has changed completely from the previous 3 days; it is rather cold compared to the others with a northerly wind picking up. This will not stop us from getting in the water as we are S.O.R.T.E.D.

With only 1 customer showing up for 2 dives Pedro and I split the duties, 1 dive each.

Here is Pedro with Johnny Maes from Weelde, Belgium and his friend Kevin Heygaerts from Turnhout, Belgium.
The 1st dive was at the Cedar Pride and Kevin was going to go snorkelling.

Splash and there goes Johnny, go Johnny go. If only we had some pom pom girls we could make a real cheer.

While Kevin was taking his time to get his camera ready to take a picture I took the opportunity to take a snap of the posing Belgium.

After the dive we offered Johnny some tea and biscuits but I am sure he would much rather have had a beer.

Now I can take Johnny on a dive and off we went to Japanese Gardens we went. This was after the paparazzi got hold of us, some tourists wanted pictures with scuba divers and we obviously obliged, why wouldn’t we?

This was a special dive as Johnny is a Divemaster and does not need babysitting, just guiding. So this allowed me to take the camera along and actually use it to take some nice pictures.

Let me first tell you about all the nice picture that I took. We saw some amazing things and here is the list:-
§         Small, very small Clown Fish in white Anemone’s.
§         Stone Fish camouflaged on various bits of reef.
§         Very small Lion Fish, I mean small so small I thought it was big Cleaner Shrimp. I know there is no connection between the 2 but just trying to explain size.
§         A beautiful Turtle swimming gracefully by minding his own business and not perturbed about us being around him, wow this was so nice to see.
§         Small Panther Torpedo Ray.
§         Some big Cabbage Coral.
§         Not to mention the Trigger, Butterfly, Angel, Picasso and other reef Fish.
§         Oh and I got some pictures of Johnny.

Now let me show you the pictures, OOPS there is none. How is this possible, you may ask, as I said that I took them? Funny story, I saw this message on the screen but could not make out what it was and just carried on clicking away. When we wanted to download the pictures from the memory card we realized that the memory card was not in the camera. L This means that no pictures are available, so it is now up to you to imagine what they would have looked like and let me tell you they are masterpieces. J
Tip of the day: - Never loose your memory.
