About Me

My photo
Well I suppose I am or at least used to be like everybody else, sort of. Used to do the thing that society wants us to, The Rat Race. For years I dreamt about exotic locations after watching the travel channel, thinking that some day I would love to go their or do that. Until the beginning of this year (5 Jan 2010), it was not planned or a new year’s resolution, it just happened. I cancelled all my TV subscriptions and pulled out all cables, literally threw them away. After this I drove down to a local scuba centre and signed up for my first scuba course. Let us fast forward to today, I have quite my job sold my vehicle. What now? TRAVEL BABY, SCUBA TRAVEL!!!

It's a beautiful day...

Yesterday was absolutely a beautiful day and it seems like today will be the same. I am combining two days on one post as I had some internet trouble and could not upload anything for two days; hopefully it is sorted out now.
As you might have seen on the news the surrounding areas has been experiencing a terrible storm but not here by us. We only had one day of bad weather and was diving the next day.

Look at the snow on my good friend Sumayyah’s car yesterday morning and that is in Amman just 300+km from here, Brrrrrrr. I feel bad for sending Sumayyah a picture of the nice day on the beach, sorry girl.

Kevin and I exiting the water after I dive were cut short due to unforeseen circumstances.

Olivier Barriot from France joined us for 2 dives, one yesterday with Graham, what was Graham back in the water; yes he was for one dive only.

The smiles you see on our faces are actually just for the camera as we are rather cold at this point. For those of you that know the Red Sea the water temperature is 24 degrees Centigrade at the moment, but we are not in the water, remember the snow you saw on Sumayyah’s car.

Just to take a look back at the desert and the mountains.

Although it is a beautiful day it is still pretty cold as soon as you get out the water and during the surface interval, so you won’t often see happy faces during this time.

Here is Kevin and Pedro entering the water to do another dive.

Going under

Did I mention that it was a beautiful day?

I will say no more the pictures speak for themselves, wow.

Pedro and Kevin surfacing after the dive, they are soon going to get cold. J Yes I am cruel but everybody get a turn.

Kevin is making his way over the rocky exit.

This is the damage the storm caused to our jetty, so we did not have it as bad as others. We were back in the water about an hour after I took this picture as I only drove down to look at conditions.

This is much calmer than yesterday so I took Kevin to the Cedar Pride.

Here Kevin Arouza from California in USA for those who did not know is being briefed before the dive, is that his wetsuit or his racing suit. Kevin is a novice motorcycle racer back home when he is not working as an engineer.

I am sure he will get bored of listening to me soon, at least I am not giving a Mexican briefing (Ok I will meet you down there).

Ana and Stefan from Romania wanted to try scuba so Pedro took them for a DSD.

This is the 1st instalment of the once a week cooking where one of us prepares something. Pedro prepared desert and doesn’t it look nice, if only you could smell it. It is called Tijelada and is very nice.

Pedro busy doing his business in the kitchen.

The boss enjoying the fruit of Pedro’s labour.

This is my share of the desert and you must agree that this looks absolutely divine, thank you Pedro.

I think it is a great idea that you guys will cook once a week...it will be a VERY NEEDED good addition to the diving center.
