Today was a good day, early morning we had an English couple from Dubai who wanted to do 2 dives. With Pedro still down I opted to take them on the dives with Graham staying at the village just in case someone else turns up for a dive.
Here is Jeff and Caroline Wilson who has taken a day off from their business trip to Amman , gear loaded and a cooler with nice warm mint tea for in between the dives and ready to go diving.
Caroline enjoying a nice cup of that famous mint tea after we returned from the Cedar Pride, this is a very popular site and very easy to get to. You can almost send the divers by themselves as your heading is 240° from the jetty to the stern. And for those of you who could not figure this out for yourselves the back bearing to the jetty is 60° (240 -180 = 60), got that. Oh yes bear in mind that the wreck is a metal structure and you will get deviation on your compass, so move away before you get your bearing and head home. Of course this is common knowledge but “common knowledge is only common to those who know it”.
Jeff is halfway out of the wetsuit getting dry and warming up during the Surface Interval (SI) while enjoying a nice cup of tea.
Yes we can see that it is weekend as Laith is not in school but diving, this is the only time that we see him. It looks like he is preparing himself to join the family business soon. The other staff members already call him small boss.
The 2nd dive was to Japanese Gardens , this is the prettiest site I have dive since I have been here, and there is just so much life on the reef. Caroline confirmed this after the dive; she did not see anything I have pointed out to her as she was in her own world. Oh yes I did some ocean cleanup myself, I filled the entire net bag with bottles and cans even picked up a cement bag. As we approached the kit up are after the dive I spotted my friend Graham on the way to the entry point at Rainbow Reef, he has come down from the centre with a customer that sighed up for a DSD, and this site is perfect for that as you have sand patches between 1.5m and 4m with some scattered reef around, and for the confident student a lovely reef at 6m. I headed back to the village with Jeff and Caroline and started washing the gear; Graham arrived about 40min later after he had dropped of his student. Then our day got better as Pedro emerged from the bunker looking much better and cracking some jokes, this was the Pedro we new, welcome back buddy.
Chicken burgers and chips for dinner is just the fuel I need to stay up late and blog. Tonight I am pretty tired and hope to get to bed before 23:00. There is so much more I want to ad on the blog but “Rome was not build in one day” so with that said I will retire to bed.
Just before I go, check out the link under Printable Logbook pages, click on it and it will take you to my personally designed logbook pages which you can print and place in a folder so you would never have to purchase a logbook again.
