About Me

My photo
Well I suppose I am or at least used to be like everybody else, sort of. Used to do the thing that society wants us to, The Rat Race. For years I dreamt about exotic locations after watching the travel channel, thinking that some day I would love to go their or do that. Until the beginning of this year (5 Jan 2010), it was not planned or a new year’s resolution, it just happened. I cancelled all my TV subscriptions and pulled out all cables, literally threw them away. After this I drove down to a local scuba centre and signed up for my first scuba course. Let us fast forward to today, I have quite my job sold my vehicle. What now? TRAVEL BABY, SCUBA TRAVEL!!!

Hey hey it's Friday ...

The day started with high hopes as it is weekend, almost immediately we had 3 French customers, 2 for 1 dive each and 1 for Discover Scuba Diving (DSD). This is exactly the way I like a day to start.

Here is Piot Stephane, Petit Matthieu and Labayle Vanessa from France, they are on a climbing trip in Wadi Rum Mountains 50km away in the desert so they decided to take a day out to come scuba diving with us and wash the desert sand off.

Graham opted to stay at the village again so Obada’s brother Laith decided to join us as we set off to the dive site. This is him busy setting up his gear, looks like a pro at work. Pedro got to take the 2 divers to the Cedar Pride with Laith tagging along and I did the DSD.

Me busy giving Piot the briefing and explaining how all the gear works while the rest is setting up their own gear.

Here we are exitting the water after the DSD at Rainbow Reef.

Ouch, rocky entry and exit. I came to the Red Sea with closed heel fins, should have brought my booties and open heels fins. Luckily I have the authority to select which pictures make it to the blog otherwise it would have been the one where I fell down just moments earlier.
Pedro did a bit of an ocean cleanup on his dive, what a legend.

Piot, Labayle and Petit after the dive, they said that they will be back next week, we will be here.

Sadly as we returned to the centre we were informed that there were no more customers for the day. L This was not the only bad news, Pedro seems to have come down with something and headed off to bed, he did not even want to eat lunch, was happy with bread and jam. Letting him rest the rest of us carried on with daily choirs.
Dinner was served at 20:52, this was the firs time we saw Pedro since lunch and he really look under the weather. I truly hope that he feels better soon.
